John Denver, a singer-songwriter who hails from Colorado that specialized in folk music, has touched the hearts of millions. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell, New Mexico. He fell in love Colorado and eventually settled in Aspen. Denver's most popular songs about his state brought many people to Colorado. I can't think of anyone else who represents Colorado such as John Denver said G. Brown director of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame. Denver, the Hall of Fame's first inductee, was honored with this honor in 2011. Denver is today the international face of Colorado. People you meet in other countries, like New Zealanders and say "I come originally from Colorado" And they reply by saying Oh John Denver. Brown stated. Take Me Home Country Roads - cowritten with Bill Danoff - was Denver's first Top 10 single as a solo performer after a brief stint in small folk bands. Danoff composed the track in conjunction with Johnny Cash in mind but after Denver heard an early version it was clear that the track could become the next hit single. Danoff recorded the song just a few days following having performed on stage in Washington D.C. before an audience that was very enthusiastic.
